To learn the skills required for your job quickly, be a little inquisitive and take the help of your seniors. Ask them questions related to your job profile and get to know the standard procedures followed. Inquire about the codes that are commonly used and the procedures that have multiple codes. 
  • Time is money: This is true for all kinds of jobs. Every employer wants the best performance from their employees and appreciates those who work efficiently. So, imbibe the qualities of an efficient performer by using your time effectively. Try working with split screens so that you can work on one screen and have your reference materials ready on the other screen.
  • Avoid errors: Right from the initial days in the job, focus on the different codes and try to avoid errors. With a little bit of caution and cross-checking, you can make sure that you have entered all the digits of a code and the CPT and ICD codes are not contradicting.
